• System Requirements
  • Recommended minimum requirements are a PC with 500 MHz processor and 512 MB RAM.  
  • Compatible operating systems are Microsoft Windows 95, 98, ME, 2000, 2003, XP and Vista.
• Download
  • Download from this website to your computer.
• Installation
  • Note that if you already have a version of Quick Pause on your computer follow the removal instructions prior to installation of the new download. 
  • Locate the file downloaded and double click on it.
  • Microsoft Windows Installer will show a box entitled 'Welcome to the Quick Pause Setup Wizard'.  Follow the steps as prompted. If your operating system or security software requires confirmation that the installation should be allowed choose yes.
  • Once installation is complete you can start Quick Pause from your computers Start Menu.
    
    Problems ? If following the above steps generates an error message you need a newer version of the Microsoft Installer.  See the Microsoft Windows Update Website for information, files and instructions.

• Will Quick Pause really help reduce RSI or recovery from RSI ?
• Quick Pause can help. There are however many other factors to take into consideration. Most of all reducing or recovering from RSI related pain requires planning and discipline. Always consult your doctor.
• Why does Quick Pause require me to take a 2 minute break to avoid a Micro Pause that is less than 2 minutes ?
• The minimum voluntary break to avoid any planned break is 2 minutes.
• Why does Quick Pause not include stretch or exercise animations ?
• Quick Pause does not show stretch or exercise animations during micro pauses and rest breaks because our philosophy is to encourage the computer user to leave the computer and do something different. Also exercises and stretch requirements vary greatly between individuals.
• Quick Pause refers to keyboard usage so why do mouse clicks count towards my daily usage ?
• To monitor computer usage Quick Pause treats mouse buttons as keys.

• What is Quick Pause online reporting and why would I use it ?
• Use online reporting to monitor your keyboard usage management over long periods of time. To see a demonstration click the Reports Login button above.
• How do I enable online reporting. Is this a free feature ?
• Yes this is a free feature of Quick Pause. To enable choose 'Free Online Tools' on the Keyboard Usage section. Quick Pause must be downloaded, installed and running for this feature to be enabled.
• What information does Quick Pause send to the reporting website about me ?
• Quick Pause sends selected data to a secure website operated by AJL Software Engineering. Uploads consist of information to identify the computer, username and keyboard usage (not keystrokes) for reporting purposes online. This information is kept secure and private and is never distributed to third party organisations.
• How often does Quick Pause upload data to the reporting website ?
• When enabled uploads proceed once per hour.
